The Lomo Reel

Keeping analogue photography alive and clicking is Lomography's no.1 mission. We've got a whole range of cameras, films and accessories in the online shop and here's some more good news - we now have a film development service too! Say hello to the LomoLab everyone!

So here are some of Lomography's basic rules for getting the best results from your Lomography camera. I wish I had read these when I first got mine, but better now than never.

  1. Take your camera everywhere you go. Like any passion, you can never plan or predict Lomography.

Guess what we got in at Helix?! We got some new film and some fun accessories for the Diana. We now carry Lomography Color Negative ISO 400 35mm film, Redscale 100 ISO 35mm film and Black and White ISO100 120mm film.

Has Your Photo Got What It Takes To Win 75 Piggies? Lomographers are a talented bunch, so we’ve decided to showcase this undeniable truism for the whole world to see. Now is your time to shine! First you must choose the 1, single most outstanding analogue photo you’ve shot lately and then be prepared to showcase your master piece all over the Facebook world! We are going to let the voting public decide which Lomographer truly has what it takes to be "talent scouted". This will be decided on August 18th when we will reveal the submitted photo that has collected the most Likes.  The winner will reap not just fame, glory and notoriety but also a whopping grand prize of 75 Piggies, worth 75 EUR/USD/GBP in the Lomography online shop (yikes!).

Shooting with a Lomo camera is no doubt fun, but there is no reason why post-shooting can't be just as fun and creative. Scanning your own negatives in is a great way to be more involved. If you happen to have a 35mm back for your Diana or Holga, then you may even have some images on your negatives that most developers these days don't print. There aren't a lot of ways around this unfortunately, but at least it is actually cheaper if you decide to have some fun with sprockets.
